Malaria Prevention
Kids Across Cultures is partnering with government offices in Zanzibar to eliminate the devastating effects of malaria on the island. Through the distribution of Long Lasting Insecticide Nets, KAC is able to impact not only individual children, but entire villages. Whereas many aid organizations limit the number of nets per household, KAC works diligently to make sure that every child and family member in a village is sleeping under a treated mosquito net.
This little girl sits on a bale of 100 nets. She lives in a coastal village in northern Zanzibar that was one of the most heavily infected areas of the island. Since a 2008 KAC malaria prevention effort in her village, there has not been a single reported case of malaria! That’s what we mean by caring for kids in life changing ways.
